Ever since picking up their first StarTimes Uganda Premier League win, a 2–0 home victory over fellow newcomers Buhimba United Saints at Midigo Primary School playground on April 11 ending a 21-match winless run in the league, Calvary FC have not looked back. They followed that breakthrough with a goalless draw at home to Lugazi FC and on Wednesday, yesterday, they travelled to Hoima to claim another point in their fight for top-flight survival.
The Horizon Stars proved no pushover at the Royals Park Butema holding an in-form Kitara FC side to a goalless draw on Matchday 24. Kitara had entered the fixture targeting a victory after dropping points in back-to-back results, a draw against Vipers and a defeat to KCCA, with those five dropped points widening the gap between the Royals and table leaders Vipers to eight points. Nothing but a win was going to keep their title ambitions meaningfully alive. Instead the stalemate leaves them further adrift.

For Calvary the point is precious. The Yumbe-based side remain at the foot of the table but the gap to Mbarara City who sit just above the relegation zone continues to narrow with each unbeaten result. The away draw extends what is now an unbeaten run since their historic first win and breathes renewed belief into their survival mission.
Calvary next host KCCA FC at Midigo Primary School Ground in Yumbe while Kitara will look to bounce back when they welcome Lugazi.
