Calvary FC endured a frustrating evening as they fell 2-0 to Entebbe UPPC, a result that dents their momentum in the critical final stretch of the season.
Coming into the match with renewed belief after a recent win over KCCA FC, Calvary FC were hoping to build consistency, but they struggled to impose themselves against a composed Entebbe UPPC side.
The hosts took the lead through Isa Bugembe, putting Calvary FC on the back foot early on. Despite efforts to respond, Calvary FC found it difficult to break down a well-organized defense and create clear scoring opportunities.
The game was effectively sealed when Entebbe UPPC were awarded a penalty, which Ambrose Kigozi converted to double the advantage and leave Calvary FC with a mountain to climb.
Calvary FC’s frustrations were evident as the match progressed, with John Rogers picking up a booking in the 40th minute, followed by Steven Oriokot in the 63rd minute and Swaleh Muhadi in the 87th minute.
Despite the loss, Calvary FC will take encouragement from their recent home victory and the fighting spirit they have shown in recent weeks. However, time is running out, and consistency will be key if they are to survive.
With the season entering its decisive phase, Calvary FC now face a demanding run of five final fixtures. They have already faced Entebbe UPPC and will next return home to host Police FC in Midigo. This will be followed by a tough away trip against URA FC at Hamz Stadium, then another away clash against UPDF FC in Bombo. Their campaign will conclude back at home against NEC FC, in what could prove to be a defining match in their fight for survival.
