Yohana FC from Pakwach DFA were crowned champions of the WNRFA Zonal Mini League 2026 Nyagak Zone after defeating Young Savannah FC of Nebbi DFA 4-2 in a penalty shootout following a goalless draw in the final.
The tournament, which kicked off on May 28 in Pakwach, brought together teams from across the zone in pursuit of regional glory and a place in the Provincial League, the fourth tier of Ugandan football.
The final lived up to expectations as both Yohana FC and Young Savannah FC produced disciplined performances but could not find a breakthrough during regulation time. With the scores level at 0-0 after 90 minutes, the title was decided through penalties.

Yohana FC kept their composure from the spot, converting four penalties to Young Savannah's two to secure the championship and spark celebrations among their supporters.
The Pakwach-based side enjoyed an impressive campaign throughout the competition, displaying consistency and determination on their way to lifting the Nyagak Zone trophy. Young Savannah FC also impressed, reaching the final after a series of strong performances and proving to be one of the tournament's standout teams.
In addition to Yohana FC and Young Savannah FC, Owilo FC and Villa Spurs SC also secured qualification to the Provincial League, ensuring that four teams from the Nyagak Zone will compete in Uganda's fourth-tier competition next season.
Despite already securing promotion, Yohana FC still have another target to chase. The Nyagak Zone champions will now face the champions of the Nile Zone in a showdown to determine the overall West Nile 5th Division League champions.
