"Work together:" Gospel Musician Mungu Feni Calls Youths at the 15th Annual Eid Tournament Final in Arua City

The spirit of Eid al-Fitr was elevated to another level in Arua City yesterday as the grounds of Arua Primary School came alive with the electrifying final of the annual Eid Tournament. The annual tournament that has grown into one of the region's most anticipated sporting celebrations climaxed after a 12-day showdown with Al Sham Medical Centre and Najjah Islamic locking horns in contest as champions to claim the Eid Tournament title; the former, Al Sham Medical Centre came out victorious.

Now in its 15th year, the Eid Tournament is far more than a football competition. It has been remarkably conceived as a platform to unite the diverse communities of Arua City through football with again this year's edition carrying an added dimension of generosity; the organisers channelling support towards the needy communities through donations aligned with the spirit of the holy month of Ramadhan.

Mr. Feni Ben, popularly known as Mungu Feni, Director of Euro Gold Refinery SMC Ltd and the Mungufeni Foundation, officiated at the event as Guest of Honour, lending significant weight to a tournament that drew 16 competing teams and a mammoth crowd of spectators eager to witness the climax of a fortnight of competitive football.

Addressing the large gathering, Mungu Feni used the occasion to deliver a message that resonated well beyond the fairplay spirit on the football pitch. He commended the organisers and the Muslim community for what he described as a brilliantly conceived initiative, before issuing a heartfelt call to action for the people of Arua City.

"Work together as a team, promote peace," he urged, directing particular attention to the city's youth, encouraging them to channel their energy into productive pursuits rather than resorting to dubious activities for survival.

True to his word, Mungu Feni backed his address with action, pledging continued support for sports activities of this nature, noting that such initiatives align directly with the vision and values of both Euro Gold Refinery SMC Ltd and the Mungufeni Foundation. He made an immediate starter contribution of UGX 2,000,000 to underscore that commitment.

The occasion attracted many notable dignitaries from within the region; Among those present was Ms. Hajat Madina Naham Ojale, NRM Director of Finance, who served as Chief Guest. Also in attendance were Mr. Alionzi Lawrence Dangote, Mayor-Elect of Arua City, and Mr. Baguma Saidi, Mayor-Elect of Central Division, Arua City.
