The Uganda Boxing Champions League Season Five closed off Week Nine, but one name has been noticeably missing from the action and that is of Ayike Arafah Rashid.
The West Nile boxer recently celebrated another important milestone after graduating from UMCAT School of Journalism and Mass Communication. However while the league has progressed through its weeks of competition, Ayike has made only limited appearances in the championship.
That has left boxing followers asking a simple question , Where is Ayike?
Ayike is no stranger to success in Ugandan boxing. The lightweight boxer is a three-time Uganda National Open gold medalist, having claimed titles in 2022, 2023 and 2024.
Her performances have also made her one of the athletes proudly carrying the name of West Nile on the national stage, while representing Uganda in the sport, with Season Five now approaching the business end her limited participation has naturally raised curiosity among fans who expected to see more of the accomplished boxer.
Could her recent graduation and the transition into a new chapter of her career have affected her participation? Or is there another reason behind her absence?
For now, the answer remains unclear.
As the Uganda Boxing Champions League heads further into the season, the boxing fraternity will be watching to see whether Ayike makes a return and gets another opportunity to showcase the talent that has earned her three national Open titles.
