Onduparaka FC have added experience, height and a familiar face to their attacking ranks, with South Sudan international Alfred Leku joining the Caterpillars ahead of their highly anticipated West Nile derby against Paidha Black Angels.
The towering forward arrives as a free agent from Lugazi FC, where he endured a difficult spell before departing the club in August. Leku made 13 appearances for the leaders, registering one assist but failing to find the back of the net.
Now, the striker returns to West Nile with something to prove.

Leku is no stranger to Ugandan football. His career has taken him through the ranks of URA FC, Arua Hill SC, Proline FC, Onduparaka FC, Express FC and Vipers SC, giving him a wealth of experience at the top level of the domestic game.
His football journey has also stretched beyond Uganda, with spells at Botswana's Jwaneng Galaxy and Extension Gunners, as well as Zambia's Zesco United.
He was part of the Kenya Police FC squad that made history in the 2024/25 season by winning the club's maiden Kenyan Premier League title.
Born with dual Ugandan and South Sudanese citizenship, Leku chose to represent South Sudan at international level. He earned his first senior cap in September 2024 during an Africa Cup of Nations qualifying fixture against Congo.

His arrival could not have come at a more intriguing moment for Onduparaka.
The Caterpillars are still searching for a response after beginning their 2026/27 FUFA Big League campaign with a 3-1 defeat to Kiyinda Boys. The departure of their leading scorer, Ade Brian, to Lugazi FC has only heightened the need for attacking reinforcements.
Leku could now be the answer.
Sources close to the deal indicate that the forward could make his Onduparaka debut against Paidha Black Angels, provided his registration and paperwork are completed in time.
