WARR FC will host Pakwach Young Stars one of the new entrants to the Big League tomorrow, Sunday 30th August at Kira Road Police Arena in another important build-up match ahead of the new season.
The fixture carries a special West Nile connection. Pakwach Young Stars represent Pakwach and the wider West Nile region, while WARR FC, one of the leading sides in Nakawa, traces its roots to Warr Town Council in Zombo District.
For WARR FC, the connection goes beyond football. The meeting brings together teams and communities with roots in West Nile, highlighting the strong bond among people from the region even while competing and building their football careers in Kampala.
It is a reflection of the spirit of “home away from home” West Nilers continuing to support, connect and create opportunities for one another wherever they are.
WARR FC which was founded in 2021, finished second in the 6th Division League 2026 just five points behind the champions. The club is coached by Warom Brian, a CAF D licensed coach, who is overseeing the team's continued development.
The side comes into Sunday's game with high morale after defeating rivals Comfort Aluminum Works FC 4-2 in a build-up match last Sunday.
As WARR FC continue with a series of preparation games, the focus is on building a stronger and more competitive team for the new campaign.
“We look forward to building a formidable side that no team would love to play against,” said Coach Warom Brian.
The clash with Pakwach Young Stars therefore presents another valuable test for WARR FC while also showcasing the unity and footballing connections that continue to bring the West Nile community together in Kampala.
