Following the conclusion of the final funeral rites for the late Asiku Akbar, the Madi Okollo District Football Association has officially confirmed the postponement of the Fifth Division League clash between Ullepi Soccer Academy and Ogoko United FC.
While the community has spent the week honoring the life of the talented goalkeeper who was laid to rest on Tuesday, 3 March 2026, the DFA reached the decision to delay the fixture to allow the Ullepi squad adequate time to transition back to competitive play. Akbar, born on 9 April 2001, was the first-choice goalkeeper for Ullepi Soccer Academy, and his absence leaves a substantial gap in the squad he helped lead through the season.

The DFA Public Relations Officer, Ssabo Vincent (Vicente Da Costa Jr), speaking on behalf of the DFA told Angara Post that the league’s priority remains the well-being of its players.
"With the final rites now concluded, we continue to stand in camaraderie with Ullepi Soccer Academy. This postponement is a gesture of respect to ensure the team can return to the pitch with the focus and dignity that Akbar’s memory deserves."
The match against Ogoko United FC will be rescheduled. The Madi Okollo DFA has informed fans and stakeholders that a new date and kickoff time will be communicated through official channels.
The 2026 Fifth division has been interesting with tight competition amongst the top four teams, Ogoko United, Okollo Central Fc, Omunda Soccer Club and Vuu United are amongst the teams bragging for the top finish as Madi Okollo has slots for four clubs that will be playing in the zonal league playoffs in Pakwach District.
