Turns Out a Green Light as Onduparaka bags close to 20M in Charity Show

​Onduparaka FC recently announced a Charity Gospel Show to mobilize for funds to help them navigate the numerous financial hurdles the club is currently entangled in. Having successfully concluded, the event raised a net total of UGX 10,632,800 to support the club’s operations and intended causes.

​The over 40-performers Charity Gospel Show, which took place last Sunday, 15th February, which saw also saw a significant turnout at the Green Light Stadium proves "The God's Team" still commands a strong community backing even during this critical phase of their season, with a mixture of disastrous performances.

According to an official accountability report released, the event attracted a total of 3,617 attendees. The total collection from the gate and contributions amounted to UGX 18,355,800.

​After deducting organizational and operational expenses which totaled to UGX 7,723,000, the club realized a surplus of over UGX 10.6 million. Major expenditure lines included Artistes (UGX 2M), Public Address Systems (UGX 1.2M), and Security (UGX 880,000).

​The success of the show validates the FUFA Big League side's recent strategy of turning to its grassroot fan base to bolster its financial standing.

The funds are earmarked to provide essential support for the club as it continues its campaign.

​"After meeting all operational and organisational expenses, a balance of UGX 10,632,800 remains to support the intended cause," the accountability report confirmed.

​In a formal press statement, the club leadership expressed profound gratitude to the diverse group of stakeholders who ensured the event’s success.

​"We extend our heartfelt appreciation to everyone who contributed to the tremendous success of the Charity Gospel Show," the statement read.

"To all the fans who showed up in great numbers, your presence, energy and unwavering support made the day truly special; you are the heartbeat of this cause and we are deeply grateful."

​The club specifically acknowledged the professionalism of the various security agencies like UPDF, the Uganda Police Force and bouncers for ensuring safety, alongside the Arua Gospel Artistes Association for their mobilization efforts.

​The club concluded its communication with a note of appreciation to the community of Onduparaka for their positivity towards the initiative.

"To the wonderful community of Onduparaka, thanks for embracing this initiative and supporting the show with open arms, this success belongs to you all."

​As Onduparaka FC moves forward, the transparency shown in this financial disclosure is expected to further strengthen the bond between the club management and its loyal supporters in the West Nile region.
