Odong Alphonse, AKA Adui, has risen to prominence and cemented himself as the most dangerous goal poacher within West nile, Currently leading the West Nile Regional League top scorer’s log with 14 goals in the first round of fixtures, with only 11 games played
Odong, born on 01/04/2002, was spotted by Pakwach Young Stars’ technical team during his Secondary School days when he won the West Nile Secondary Schools Championship with Panyango Ss in 2022, and was signed directly from his former club Amuru Young Stars and he went on to feature in some few games for the club that season.
The following season, 2023-2024, he also featured in some games for Pakwach Young Stars, but due to the presence of the then on form striker Kizza Martin, AKA Neymar shadowed him as he had limited playing time and was mainly deployed on the wings, though he also managed to bag some goals for “the Beleivers” that season, helping them to Finish second on the Log. The subsequent season, Odong would only manage to play the first round of the season, and was absent for almost the entire second leg due to Family Issues, which kept him away from club duties.
2025-2026 season, Odong’s breakthrough came through after Coach Ceasor Samson Okhuti trusted him with the responsibility of scoring goals for the Pakwach based side, a duty that Odong executed with utmost efficiency, so far bagging 14 goals in 11 games, more than any other player in any other league across Uganda. With the second half of the Regional league yet to Kick off, we are all yearning to see how many goals this exciting goal poacher will bag in a full season for the Pakwach Based side
