Shot stopper Norman Angufindru has been unveiled today at Kigezi Homeboyz on a two year employment contract. The experienced goalkeeper joins the Gorillas as a free agent after his contract at SC Villa expired.
Angufindru, at 30, has built a long career in Ugandan football with experienced sampled right from grassroot football to the top topflight. He started out at Ovujo United before spells at Mvara Boys and IUIU FC.
He then moved to Calvary FC and later Onduparaka FC before joining SC Villa in 2023. At Villa he won the Uganda Premier League title and the FUFA Super 8 trophy.
Norman also has a FUFA Drum winner's medal in his names with West Nile Province.
Kigezi Homeboyz, who earned promotion to the StarTimes Uganda Premier League for the first time in the club's history and are now assembling a squad built for the topflight.
With The Gorillas having already signed defender Benjamin Gakumba this window, the addition of a proven goalkeeper like Angufindru shows the ambition behind the club's project.
Angufindru brings a winner's mentality that Kigezi Homeboyz can use as they step up in class. He is known for his commanding presence, strong aerial ability and quick reflexes.
He also reads well in one on one situations and distributes the ball with confidence. That blend of composure and big game experience should help steady a squad preparing for its toughest test yet.
