In a significant turn of events, West Nile Regional League side Nebbi Central FC has announced the contract extension of star forward Edema Sabir, securing the services of one of their most influential players ahead of the 2026/27 season.
Sabir had been heavily linked with a move away from the Royals following the club's relegation from the FUFA Big League, with several clubs reportedly showing interest in his signature. Among the teams linked with the prolific forward were FUFA Big League sides Onduparaka FC and Paidha Black Angels FC, as well as Uganda Premier League outfits Express FC and Ntungasaze FC.

However, despite the growing speculation surrounding his future, Sabir has chosen to continue his journey with Nebbi Central.
The forward was a standout performer for the Royals during the 2025/26 FUFA Big League campaign, scoring an impressive 11 goals. His efforts, however, were not enough to prevent Nebbi Central from suffering relegation from the second tier.
With his future now settled, Sabir will embark on a new chapter with the Royals as they begin life in the West Nile Regional League in the 2026/27 season. His experience, goal scoring ability and familiarity with the club will undoubtedly make him a key figure as Nebbi Central aim to rebuild and fight their way back to the FUFA Big League.
