Crisis Strikes: Onduparaka FC Turns to 40-Act Charity Show for Survival

With Onduparaka FC grappling with financial burdens, efforts have intensified to raise funds to enable the club to continue running its activities. This afternoon, a charity show that will bring together more than 40 performing acts will be staged.

The performance lineup features over 35 gospel musicians and nine MCs, including Arua City Central Division MP-Elect, Hon. Muzaid Khemis, who is expected to headline the event at Onduparaka’s Greenlight Stadium in Arua.

Mr. Nyamua Walter, the Head of Marketing and Public Relations at the club, revealed that proceeds from the charity event will help strengthen the squad.

“It’s a charity concert to support the team,” Nyamua stated.

“The club has identified key areas to reinforce especially in the wings, in attacking midfield and defense," he added.

He further clarified that the funds raised will be handed over to management to address urgent matters affecting the club.

“The funds will be handed to the management to fix urgent issues at the club,” Walter added.

Access to the event has been made affordable for all, with kids admitting at UGX 3000, Adult ordinary at UGX 5000, VIP pay UGX 10,000 and a table is just UGX 80,000. This is a great consideration by the club towards their fans.

Onduparaka recently was on media headlines after the team traveled to Kabale for their Stanbic Uganda Cup Round of 64 fixture with only eleven players to face Kabale City FC due to the financial strain. Fortunately enough, the club managed to book a slot to the next Round after a 3-1 comfortable win at the Kabale Municipal Stadium.

The funds raised in this event will be a great lift to minimize such incidents repeating at the club that once homed some of the regions best talents including Uganda Cranes players Samson Caesar Okhuti, Muhammad Shaban and South Sudan National Team stars Gadafi Wahab, Rashid Toha, Geriga Atendele and Rashid Okocha.
