Nebbi District is brimming with anticipation as it sends a vibrant team of young athletes to the 2026 Primary Schools National Kids Athletics Championship, set to kick off on May 4th in Tororo. With talent, determination, and thorough preparation on their side, the district's representatives are poised to make a strong statement on the national stage.
The journey to the nationals began with a highly competitive district championship held from April 14th to 17th at Koch Primary School in Nebbi Sub County. The event showcased emerging talent from across the district, ultimately shaping a team built on merit and promise.
Following the championship, the selected athletes entered an intensive one-week residential training camp at Namrwodho Road Primary School, running from April 24th to May 2nd. The camp focused on sharpening technique, building endurance, and fostering teamwork among the young competitors, ensuring they are fully prepared for the challenge ahead.

Special Need Education (SNE) category athletes
In a show of strong local support, the team was officially flagged off on May 1st by the District Local Council Five Chairman, Hon. Urombi Emmanuel, and the RDC. The ceremony underscored the district's commitment to nurturing grassroots sprouts and empowering young talents.
Nebbi will field a total of 31 athletes at the championship, with 24 competing in the normal category and seven representing the Special Needs Education (SNE) category. This inclusive representation highlights the district's dedication to providing equal opportunities for learners to showcase their abilities on the national platform.
