Muhammad Shaban Joins Growing Ugandan Contingent at Nairobi United
Uganda Cranes forward Muhammad Shaban Jagason has completed a move to Kenyan side Nairobi United ahead of the new season, joining a growing group of Ugandan players at the club.
Nairobi United announced Shaban's arrival on their social media platforms, introducing him as their “new Naiboi” and welcoming the experienced forward to the club.
The move comes shortly after Shaban parted ways with Uganda Premier League side Kitara FC after just five months.
Shaban joined Kitara in February 2026 on a two-year contract after leaving Ethiopian side Bunna FC. However, his stay at the Hoima-based club was cut short after both parties agreed to terminate his contract by mutual consent.
The forward made six Uganda Premier League appearances for Kitara and scored once, finding the net in the Royals' 2-1 victory over Lugazi FC.
At Nairobi United, Shaban will link up with several fellow Ugandans who are already part of the club's setup. The squad currently includes Kizza Mustafa, Joseph Seremba, Charles Waibi and Gavin Kizito, giving the Kenyan side a strong Ugandan presence.
For Shaban, the move provides an opportunity to start afresh and continue his career outside Uganda. The experienced forward has previously featured for KCCA FC, Vipers SC, Onduparaka FC and Express FC, while also gaining international experience with the Uganda Cranes.
His arrival adds further attacking experience to Nairobi United as the club prepares for the new campaign, with Shaban expected to bring his experience and goal-scoring ability to the Kenyan side.
The club's unveiling message marked the beginning of what Nairobi United described as an exciting new journey for the Ugandan forward.
