When Entebbe UPPC FC announced the signing of Moro Swadik from Buhimba United Saints, expectations were high. Just two matches into his time with the Printers, the exciting winger has already shown why the club invested in him.

Before kick-off in the second leg at Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo, players, officials, and supporters observed a moment of silence in memory of former SC Villa captain David Owori, who died on 5th August 2026 after reportedly being attacked by thugs. The tribute was a solemn reminder that football unites people not only in celebration but also in mourning.

Swadik's performances in the two-legged FUFA Super 8 against NEC FC have not only earned him praise from supporters but have also significantly increased his visibility within Ugandan football. His fearless style of play, explosive pace, and confidence in one-on-one situations have made him one of the standout talking points of the competition.

The first leg started brightly for NEC FC who took the lead in the 35th minute through James Jarieko. The goal came after a beautifully constructed move, with Pius Obuya picking out Joseph Seremba, whose precise cross found James Jarieko for a composed finish past the UPPC goalkeeper. Trailing 1-0 at halftime, Entebbe UPPC head coach turned to his new signing, introducing Moro Swadik in place of Hassan Ssenyonjo.

The substitution immediately changed the complexion of the match. Swadik brought fresh energy to the Printers' attack, stretching the NEC defence with his pace and willingness to run at defenders. His direct approach and close control gave UPPC a new attacking dimension, helping the side mount a second-half comeback to secure a 1-1 draw and keep the tie alive heading into the return leg.

Although he did not score in his debut appearance, his performance quickly became one of the biggest talking points after the match. Videos of his dribbles and attacking play circulated widely on social media, introducing the winger to many football fans who may not have watched him during his time at Buhimba United Saints.

With Entebbe UPPC searching for a way back into the contest, Swadik produced another important contribution. In the 27th minute, he made a perfectly timed run into the box to meet Julius Poloto's inviting cross, calmly tapping the ball into the net for his first goal in Entebbe UPPC colours.

The goal highlighted another aspect of his game, his movement and composure inside the penalty area adding to the creativity and dribbling ability he had already displayed in the first leg.

Despite Swadik's equaliser, Richard Basangwa struck twice for NEC FC, ensuring the Diehards claimed a 2-1 victory in the second leg and progressed to the FUFA Super 8 semi-finals with a 3-2 aggregate win.

In just two appearances, the winger has gone from a new signing to one of the club's most exciting players. His ability to influence matches, create excitement among supporters, and deliver in key moments suggests he could become a vital figure for the Printers as they prepare for the upcoming Uganda Premier League season.
