FUFA Big League: Battling Onduparaka Seek Relegation Redemption as Wounded Kigezi Homeboyz Visit Green Light Stadium

Onduparaka Football Club will host second placed Kigezi Homeboyz this Sunday at the Green Light Stadium in Arua City in what promises to be a must-win clash on both ends in the FUFA Big League.

The Caterpillars, languishing near the foot of the table, face a stiff task against an in-form Kigezi Homeboyz side whose promise for promotion to the top flight suffered a huge 2-0 blow in their midweek fixture away to Paidha Black Angels in Zombo.

Notably, Onduparaka will be welcoming back their former coach Sadick Sempigi, who also brings with him the club's former talisman Dominic Abonga. The South Sudanese striker has been actively involved in goals this season and will be eager to prove a point at his former home, having already found the net five times for the Gorillas in the league current campaign.

The Caterpillars, however, are not without firepower. They present a solid arsenal led by Brian Ade who has been in red-hot form in recent games having accumulated 10 goals this season and a midfield reinforced by former Calvary FC and Aziz Daman All Stars player Andama Sabir chanted as "Nelu."

Onduparaka head into this fixture with confidence, having lost just once in their last six outings. After edging Kaaro Karungi 1-0, they held Wakiso Giants to a goalless draw on the road before suffering their only defeat, a 3-0 loss at Kiyinda Boys. The Caterpillars responded in character, drawing 1-1 with Bunyaruguru United, winning 1-0 at home against Soltilo Bright Stars and most recently holding Nebbi Central to a 1-1 draw in the West Nile Derby away from home.

The visitors' recent form tells a difficult story. Their last league victory came against Nebbi Central in Kabale three matches ago. Since then they have lost to Young Elephants away from home, been awarded a win over Mbale Heroes after the latter failed to turn up at Al-Madina Stadium in Kabale and lost 2-0 to Paidha Black Angels at Bar Okoro Stadium in Zombo.
