Onduparaka FC are set to unveil Norman Brown Lumumba on a two-year contract, with the South Sudanese attacking midfielder joining the Caterpillars from Uganda Premier League side Lugazi FC.
The 21-year-old brings pace, energy and tactical discipline to an Onduparaka side determined to mount a strong challenge in the 2026/27 FUFA Big League season, under the ambitious campaign theme “ONDU-2 UPL.”

Lumumba is no stranger to the Caterpillars. The youngster was part of the Onduparaka FC junior team during the 2017/18 season, making his return to Greenlight Stadium a homecoming of sorts.
Before joining Lugazi FC, Lumumba featured for Calvary FC in the FUFA Big League, where his performances helped put him on the radar beyond Uganda. He has also gained valuable international experience with South Sudan, featuring for the Bright Stars at the 2023 Under-20 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt, where he made a substitute appearance in South Sudan's opening Group B match against the Democratic Republic of Congo.

His solid work rate and tactical discipline during the tournament earned him a call-up to the senior South Sudan national team for Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matches. He later represented the Bright Stars at the All-Africa Games in Ghana, before securing a move to Uganda Premier League side Lugazi FC.
Known for his ability to inject pace into matches, Lumumba is particularly dangerous in the second half, when he can use his speed to stretch tiring defenders, exploit spaces and add another dimension to the attack. His ability to run at opponents and create problems in the final third could provide Onduparaka with a quality they were missing last season.
His return also reunites him with head coach Akena Geoffrey, adding another familiar connection as the Caterpillars continue to shape their squad ahead of the new campaign.

Lumumba's arrival is another statement of intent from Onduparaka as they strengthen their squad for the 2026/27 FUFA Big League season, with the club's “ONDU-2 UPL” campaign signalling a clear ambition to fight for promotion back to Uganda's top flight.
For the Caterpillars, the return of a player who once came through their junior ranks, now armed with international experience and greater maturity, could prove to be a significant piece in their promotion puzzle.
