Ayike Arafah Rashid is a kakwa who was born and raised in Arua the heart of West Nile by her grandmother.

Her journey began with humble roots and strong values from Teremunga Primary School to Arua Islamic Primary School, and later Arua Public Secondary School, her path was shaped by determination and a deep belief in self-growth.
Beyond the classroom, Ayike found her true battleground in the boxing ring with Arua city boxing club, she proudly carries the spirit of her region as her boxing career shines and gives the West Nile a spotlight showing the world that champions come from every corner of the country.
Boxing as a sport that demands discipline, courage, and control, she rose to the top by winning three gold medals at the Uganda National Open, Gold in 2022, 2023, and 2024, all in the lightweight category. She proved herself at every level in the novice, intermediate, and open which became a symbol of consistency and excellence.
For Ayike, boxing is more than punches and medals. It is about fairness, self-control, and facing an equal opponent ,someone of the same weight, age, and category .She also managed to reach the 2025 Uganda boxing champions league season four finals where she was defeated but kept going since it is only champions that reach finals. While in boxing she didn't stop going to school ,Ayike carried on education at the United Media Consultants and Trainers {UMCAT] School of Journalism and Mass Communication, where she pursued her passion for storytelling and communication and is set to graduate on 27th February 2026.
From a grandmother’s guidance in Arua to standing tall on national podiums, ayikes story is a reminder that greatness can grow from anywhere and that with discipline and belief, a young girl can become a champion, both in the ring and in life.
