Onduparaka FC have stepped up efforts to strengthen their attacking department by opening negotiations with highly-rated striker Sam Semugugu ahead of the new season.
The former Lugazi FC forward is emerging as one of the key targets for the Caterpillars as they seek to address their goal scoring struggles that became evident during the latter stages of the previous campaign.

Semugugu enjoyed an outstanding season with UWA FC in the Buganda Regional League, where he finished among the top scorers with an impressive tally of 19 goals. His clinical finishing and consistency in front of goal have made him one of the most sought-after strikers outside the top-flight leagues.
Although discussions between the player and Onduparaka FC are ongoing, a deal is unlikely to be concluded immediately as the striker is currently focused on his commitments in the ongoing Masaza Cup. Sources close to the negotiations indicate that talks could accelerate once his Masaza Cup campaign comes to an end.
Onduparaka FC's interest in Semugugu highlights the club's determination to build a more competitive squad capable of challenging for promotion and avoiding the attacking shortcomings that hampered their performances last season. Goals became increasingly difficult to come by as the campaign progressed, prompting the club's technical team to prioritize reinforcements in the final third.
The pursuit of Semugugu comes shortly after reports linked the Arua-based side with former BUL FC winger Ibrahim Orit, further underlining the club's intent to add quality and experience to its ranks.

Should the move materialize, Semugugu would bring proven goal scoring ability and valuable experience to an Onduparaka side eager to return to its former heights and mount a serious challenge in the upcoming season.
The coming weeks are expected to be crucial as Onduparaka FC continue their recruitment drive, with supporters eagerly awaiting further developments on one of the club's most important transfer pursuits.
