The netball community in Arua City is abuzz with the potential departure of Trust Ronald Kasujja, the tactical mastermind behind the recent dominance of Arua Public Secondary School (APESCO). Since his arrival in 2023, Kasujja has transformed the school into a regional powerhouse, but his expiring contract has now triggered a "transfer tug-of-war" among top schools in the region.
The "Kasujja Era" Achievements (2023–2025)
Under Trust Ronald Kasujja’s leadership, Arua Public SS has maintained an iron grip on local netball, consistently defeating traditional rivals in high-stakes finals.
2023: The Foundation
City & Regional Champion: Secured the Arua City title against Muni Girls and the Regional championship by defeating St. Mary’s Ediofe Girls SS.
2024: National Breakthrough
Defending Champions: Retained the City (vs. Muni Girls) and Regional (vs. Mvara SS) titles.
National Ranking: Led the team to their first national appearance under his tenure, finishing 28th in Uganda.
2025: Peak Dominance
The Three-Peat: Completed a historic "back-to-back-to-back" sweep of both City and Regional trophies.
Elite National Rise: Pushed APESCO to a remarkable 12th place finish in the entire country, cementing the school’s status as a national threat.
Impact on Arua City Netball
Kasujja’s influence extended beyond just trophies; he shifted the competitive balance of West Nile netball.
Tactical Superiority: His tenure saw APESCO consistently overcome powerhouse rivals like Mvara SS and Ediofe Girls, who had previously dominated the regional scene.
National Visibility: By improving the school's national rank from 28th to 12th in just one year, he placed Arua City netball on the map for national scouts and league clubs.
Arua Public SS is reportedly working "head over heels" to secure a contract renewal for Kasujja. However, the uncertainty has opened the door for rival institutions. Several schools, recognizing his ability to deliver immediate results and national prestige, have already submitted formal proposals to lure the "championship specialist" away from APESCO.
