Onduparaka FC have officially unveiled Akena Geoffrey as their new Head Coach, ushering in a new era at the Caterpillars with the experienced tactician signing a one-year renewable contract.
The appointment marks a major statement of intent from the West Nile giants, who are looking to build a team capable of matching their ambitions and reigniting the passion of their supporters.

Akena, a CAF B-licensed coach, arrives with considerable experience on the touchline and a deep understanding of football in the region. His coaching journey has seen him take charge of Calvary FC and Adjumani Town Council, where he served in 2022 and 2023 respectively.
The 47-year-old also previously served as head coach of Nebbi Central FC, before resigning from his position on January 10, 2026.
Now, the Caterpillars have entrusted him with the responsibility of steering the club into the Star times Uganda Premier League.

Onduparaka officially confirmed his appointment through the club's channels, declaring:
“The Caterpillars are delighted to welcome Akena Geoffrey as our new Head Coach on a one-year renewable contract.”
The club added that Akena joins with valuable experience and fresh ambition as he takes charge of the Caterpillars.
