After nearly two years on the sidelines, experienced West Nile forward Abang Cromwell Rwothomio has officially returned to competitive football after signing a two-year contract with Lugazi FC.

The former NEC FC striker joins the Najjembe-based side following the mutual termination of his contract with NEC, committing his future to the "Leaders" until 2028. His arrival comes just a day after Lugazi FC unveiled former Onduparaka FC striker Ade Brian Vardy, as the club continues to strengthen its squad ahead of the new season.
Speaking after putting pen to paper, an excited Rwothomio expressed his delight at returning to the game.
"Lugazi FC is a very good club. The players, coaches, and administrators have all been very welcoming. I am happy that I will be playing football again, and I am indeed excited for this opportunity," he said.
Rwothomio brings a wealth of experience to Lugazi FC, having featured for Paidha Black Angels FC, URA FC, Vipers SC, and NEC FC. During his time at Vipers, he established himself as a key member of the squad and was part of the team that competed in the 2022/23 CAF Champions League.

He later joined NEC FC in September 2023, where he made 27 appearances and scored nine goals before his departure.
The forward first rose to national prominence in 2018 when he captained Paidha Black Angels FC to promotion to the Uganda Premier League, cementing his reputation as one of West Nile's finest football talents.

Rwothomio's return is expected to add quality, leadership, and attacking firepower to Lugazi FC as they prepare for the challenges of the upcoming campaign.
