The 2026 USSSA Boys Football Championship in Lira once again exposed the growing gap between West Nile schools and the country’s football powerhouses. While Amus College School lifted the trophy in a tournament hosted by Lira Town College, West Nile representatives Mvara Secondary School, Idiwa Parents Secondary School, and Aringa Secondary School struggled to make an impact, leaving fans questioning what must change for the region to compete among Uganda’s elite once again.
