Jarieko James’ brace saw him win man of the match yesterday as his side walloped newbies Ntugasaze Fc to tighten the race for the title.
Bouncing off from a 2:1 defeat to Jinja Based BUL Fc, Jarieko and his teammates once again found themselves down after Ntugasaze scored in the 2nd minute of the match.
NEC Fc found their footing, nibbling an equalizer through another West Nile Talent, Ibrahim Musa, before Jarieko netted his first of the evening to give the die hards the lead in the first half.
Jarieko showed his brilliance by stealing the ball from Mayindi Jr of Ntugasaze before a quick sharing of passes between him and his teammate Basangwa offered him the ball in space and he calmly slotted it home for the Die Hards to take the lead just at the stroke of half time.
Going into the first half with a 2:1 lead, Jarieko and his teammates came back hungry for more as they kept attacking the visitors from all angles, with Jarieko causing significant damage from the left side of the pitch where he was operating as a left winger, his preferred position.
The Star boy found the back of the net again in the second half when a loose ball fell through his way and he looped it over the defenders and goal keeper straight into the net for his second goal of the evening, and a round up of the evening.
