Bar Okoro stadium, Paidha - February 6, 2026 - Maroons FC, "The Prison Boys", emerged victorious in a hard-fought 2-1 win over Paidha United, "The Comrades", in a Stanbic Uganda Cup match.
Nkubi Brian scored just before half-time to give Maroons FC the lead. They extended their advantage in the second half with another goal, seemingly putting the game beyond Paidha United's reach.
However, The Comrades refused to give up, and Ronny's 73rd-minute strike brought them back into contention. Despite their best efforts, Paidha United couldn't find an equalizer, and Maroons FC held on to win 2-1.
"The win is a big boost for us, and we're looking forward to the next round," said a Maroons FC official. Paidha United coach, on the other hand, praised his team's fighting spirit, saying, "We gave it our all, but it wasn't our day."
