Olaboro Rescues Calvary FC in Hard-Fought Draw Against URA FC

Calvary FC battled to a valuable 1-1 draw against URA FC in a tense encounter that saw Lawrence Olaboro once again rise to the occasion for the visitors.

URA FC took the lead in the 27th minute through Ronald Otti after being set up by Disan Galiwango, with the Tax Collectors controlling large spells of the first half.

However, Calvary responded strongly before the break as Lawrence Olaboro continued his impressive run of form, finding the back of the net in the 40th minute after a well-worked assist from Junior Emmanuel Ojok to level matters at 1-1.

Both sides made several tactical changes after halftime in search of a winner. URA introduced Amaku Fred and Ssekibengo Godfrey at the start of the second half, replacing Junior Bruno Bunyaga and Innocent Kisolo, before later bringing on Norman Namany for Moses Waiswa Ndhondhi.

Calvary also reshuffled their squad with double substitutions in both halves. Jeremy Matata and Adinho Gibson were introduced in the 75th minute for Saidi Sukuru and Junior Andama as the visitors pushed to snatch all three points.

The physical nature of the contest saw Hadji Shukuru booked in the 70th minute, while emotions boiled over in the technical area as URA official Godfrey Ndugga was sent off after reportedly inciting players toward assistant referee Mulindwa Hakim and fourth official Ochan Isaac.

Stephen Oriokot earned the Man of the Match award after a composed display that helped his side secure an important point away from home.

The result further highlights Calvary’s resilience, with Lawrence Olaboro once again proving decisive in crucial moments for the club.
