This weekend has been an instant turnaround for all West Nile teams in the FUFA Big League as all three clubs secured wins in their encounters; all at home.
Onduparaka FC secured all three points at home against Kaaro Karungi FC with a stunning 71st-minute free kick from Mungufeni Jonathan. The Caterpillars' thrilling victory on Saturday evening eases some of the pressure at the bottom of the standings. They now gear up for a midweek Stanbic Uganda Cup clash against KCCA FC at Lugogo, aiming for a spot in the final 8.
Nebbi Central onnthe other hand made light work of Wakiso Giants, securing a commanding 4-0 victory with braces from Edema Sabir and David 'Garnacho' Ocircan. This impressive win was a clear comeback, avenging their 4-2 defeat in the reverse fixture at Hamz Stadium in Kampala.
In Zombo District, Paidha Black Angels boosted both their title and promotion hopes with a crucial win over Iganga United. Obedmoth 'Dante' David's header off Kaggwa's corner delivery was all the cheering Bar Okoro faithful needed to boost their morale further.
Paidha now sits third on the log with 32 points, three shy of leaders Kigezi Homeboyz; Nebbi Central dislodges Iganga United and Wakiso Giants to move to the 10th position and Onduparaka still lingers in the relegation zone with 21 points and in 14th position.
