Kaaro Karungi FC’s difficult start to life in the 2026/27 FUFA Big League took another turn for the worse after a 2–0 defeat to Calvary FC at Midigo Primary School Playground.
The Ntungamo-based side arrived in Midigo still searching for their first point of the campaign, but two first-half strikes from Omari Mbusa ensured their wait would continue.
Calvary, smarting from a 2–0 defeat away to Young Elephants in Nwoya in their previous outing, approached the contest with purpose. Their pressure eventually paid off as Mbusa found the back of the net twice before the interval to put the hosts in command.
Kaaro Karungi attempted to alter the script after the break. The visitors created a number of openings and showed greater attacking intent, but their efforts lacked the final touch needed to breach Calvary's defence.
The Horizon Stars, meanwhile, managed the game with increasing maturity as the minutes slipped away, protecting their advantage to secure their first league victory of the season.

For Kaaro Karungi, the defeat adds to a troubling pattern against West Nile opposition.
They began the campaign with a narrow 1–0 loss to Paidha Black Angels at Kyamate Playgrounds before suffering a heavier 3–0 defeat to Pakwach Young Stars at Luo Grounds.
Three matches into the season, Kaaro Karungi remain without a point and have now conceded six goals without finding the net against West Nile opponents.
